Social action
Long before the farm, the founder — a public-health nurse who became a healthcare manager in the United States — supported schools, health and associations in his home region. FAMZ continues this commitment: its goal is not personal wealth, but jobs, training and the well-being of families in the Kapolondougou commune.
Already achieved
Maternal and child health, community life, employment: targeted support provided by the founder.

2022-2023: funding the training of a traditional birth attendant at the Kapolondougou community health centre (CSCom), who became a maternal and child health nurse.
Funding the training of the same CSCom’s nurse, who became a senior technician and then head of the centre.
Funding the training of the CSCom head in emergency ultrasound, to better monitor pregnancies and emergencies on site.
In Bougouni, until 2009: creating and supporting women’s associations, and helping the Federation of People Living with Disabilities set up income-generating projects, in partnership with a French association.
Equipping a first internet café in Bougouni and training a young man in computer maintenance, who later became the café’s owner and a trainer.

Why local healthcare? A study conducted in southern Mali (Heinmüller, Dembélé, Jouquet, Haddad and Ridde) showed that making primary care completely free for children under 5 raised health-centre attendance from 0.3 to 1.8 consultations per child per year.
