Activity 01
Poultry
Poultry is the heart of FAMZ: a laying-hen farm supplying fresh eggs, packed in trays, to households, retailers and shops in Kapolondougou, N’Kourala and the neighbouring villages.

What we do
Day to day on the farm
Laying-hen farming
Batches are housed in dedicated buildings, on litter, with drinkers and hanging feeders. The team built a second henhouse itself to receive new batches.
Daily monitoring
Headcount, mortality, feed and water consumed, laying and breakage are recorded every day on field sheets, then entered into the FAMZ ERP. Regular weighings track pullet growth.
Controlled feeding
Feed accounts for about 60% of the cost of an egg. FAMZ formulates rations by growth stage and is developing on-farm feed production from local maize and soy.
Health and biosecurity
Biosecurity is being strengthened: controlled access, separate batches, health register and veterinary protocol, to prevent rather than cure.
Selling eggs
Eggs are sold in trays of 30 in the commune and neighbouring villages — N’Kourala, Zanferebougou, Finkolo, Niena — with every sale recorded in the ERP.
